A Muslim convert who threatened the creators of South Park over a cartoon of the prophet Muhammed in a bear suit has been sentenced to 25 years in jail.
College drop-out Zachary Chesser of Bristow, Virginia, posted online threats to the TV writers that included their home addresses and urged readers to ‘pay them a visit’.
The 21-year-old had twice travelled to Somalia to join Al-Shabab, a terror organisation linked to Al-Qaeda – even taking his infant son as ‘cover’.

‘The fact that a young man from Northern Virginia could support such violence and terror is a sobering reminder of the serious threat that home-grown jihadists pose to this country,’ said U.S. Attorney Neil MacBride.
‘His actions caused people throughout the country to fear speaking out – even in jest – to avoid being labelled as enemies who deserved to be killed.’
Chesser admitted encouraging attacks by posting speeches made by Anwar al-Awlaki which explained the Islamic justification for killing those who insult or defame Muhammed.
